Unique Collaborations at RIGA FASHION WEEK

AW24

From October 28 to 31, Riga, the capital of Latvia, will host Riga Fashion Week, during which local and international designers will present collections for the upcoming season. Some of them will showcase the results of unique collaborations. While the fashion community is already accustomed to joint collections by major brands and streetwear labels, the collaborative products presented on the Riga runway will be something extraordinary for the Baltic region.

Designer Katya Shehurina of the “BAE” brand has teamed up this season with the globally renowned brand Huawei, which will showcase its GT5 Series watch collection at Riga Fashion Week. During the joint show, the watches will perfectly complement the looks from Katya's collection “Queen of Hearts,” inspired by a reimagined version of Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderland.” The collection embodies elegance, ease, and individualism. “In our work, we adhere to sustainable development principles, which is why the pieces are made from recycled materials. Moreover, we strive to ensure that the dresses women buy for special occasions are as practical as possible and remain relevant over time. This is another tribute to sustainable fashion, our contribution to slow fashion,” shares Katya Shehurina.

"The collaboration with the 'BAE by Katya Shehurina' brand as part of Riga Fashion Week is a great opportunity to showcase how advanced technology perfectly complements a fashionable look. The Huawei Watch GT5 model combines elegance and innovation, becoming an essential accessory for those who value style and functionality. We are excited to be part of this fashion event," says Eglė Gailienė, Marketing Director of Huawei in the Baltics.

The team from the Stockmann department store will form a fashion tandem with the Finnish brand “Lili Marleena,” whose items are produced in Helsinki using high-quality Italian fabric remnants. All the clothing is “one size,” meaning it fits any body type. “This is because many items today quickly become unnecessary and are discarded as our body shape changes, and, accordingly, so does the clothing size,” comments the designer of the eponymous brand. The looks for the joint show are styled by Sergei Khatanzeisky, the creator of “VOLGA 2.0.” The collection blends classic elements with modern fashion trends, offering stylish solutions for festive wardrobes.

Designer Inese Ozola of one of the most feminine brands, Amoralle, is adding a masculine touch to the collection this season through collaboration with designer Fyodor Podgorny (formerly creative director of FYODOR GOLAN). The new collection reflects ideas of fragility, as well as inner strength. Fyodor notes: “This collection is about feelings and emotions. It embodies the beauty of fragility — delicate, yet strong.” The result of this creative collaboration is a series of delicate and bold solutions that combine the vulnerability of the designs with a fresh take on fashion.

This season, with the close cooperation and support of the Italian Embassy in Latvia, the Riga Fashion Week program also includes events featuring representatives of Italian fashion. More about that in the upcoming press releases.

Riga Fashion Week will take place from October 28 to 31 and will bring together talented newcomers and renowned fashion masters on a single runway.
