Extensive Event Program of RIGA FASHION WEEK

SS25

The spring season of RIGA FASHION WEEK, taking place from April 7 to 10, will offer not only runway shows but also a rich program that combines fashion, art, and education. Alongside the fashion show schedule, guests will have the opportunity to attend lectures, exhibitions, and creative presentations that create a space for experience exchange, inspiration, and professional growth.

One of the unique events of the educational program will be a series of lectures on fashion photography, which is included in the RFW program for the first time and is organized in collaboration with ISSP. On the first day of Fashion Week, in the ISSP creative space, Līga Zemturne, the Editor-in-Chief of LÉOPARD magazine, former Editor-in-Chief of L'Officiel Baltics, and Creative Director, will share her expertise and insights in a lecture titled “Fashion Photography for Fashion Magazine”. On April 9, four lectures will take place, featuring leading Latvian photographers Vika Anisko, Natalie Berezina, Miks Užāns, and Madara Šaicāne. The speakers will discuss the daily work in the fashion industry, creative processes, share practical tips, and explore both the technical and artistic aspects of fashion photography. The lectures will be engaging for both seasoned photographers and newcomers to the field. Tickets are available via link.

"ISSP has always supported creative development, professional growth, and educational opportunities in photography. Fashion photography is an essential part of visual culture, and participation in Riga Fashion Week gives photographers access to the experience of leading professionals, practical knowledge, and new industry connections. Such initiatives help develop visual arts and create a supportive environment for emerging talents," stated ISSP representatives.

The events within the expanded cultural program of RIGA FASHION WEEK offer a fresh perspective on fashion — placing it in a broader artistic and societal context. On April 7, at the Private Collection Museum, the official opening of the vintage iron exhibition will take place. The exhibition showcases 18th–20th-century irons, collected from around the world over 20 years, each with a unique history. The exhibition will be open throughout Fashion Week (free entry, donations welcome).

During RFW, guests are invited to visit the MuseumLV gallery, where the NOME exhibition, a creative manifesto by Elīna Malygina, will be presented, exploring fashion as a means of interpreting social norms and personal boundaries (tickets available for all visitors). Meanwhile, at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, a contemporary glass exhibition titled “Layers” by Baltic artists will be on display during these days (entry by ticket).
